Dr Peter McCullough: Tackling Post-COVID Syndromes
Characteristic symptoms include headache, hearing loss, tinnitus, loss of olfactory function, sleep disturbance, muscle aches, weakness, fatigue, and chest or abdominal pain. With this array of symptoms, it has been my approach to utilize testing according to prominent symptoms.
For example, serious headache or neurological findings requires a head CT or MRI to evaluate for stroke and or intracranial bleeding/thrombosis. Skin rash or bruising requires laboratory evaluation for vaccine-induced thrombocytopenic purpura. Chest pain or effort intolerance, particularly in men, calls for an evaluation for COVID-19 vaccine-induced myocarditis with ECG, and blood tests (troponin I or T, BNP, galectin-3, and ST2).
Lastly, extremity pain, swelling, or pleuritic pain/dyspnea suggests a workup for blood clots — deep venous thrombosis and pulmonary embolism. This is typically done with leg/arm ultrasound and chest CT scanning. Each one of these post-COVID syndromes has specific treatments.
This week we have on the show Dr. Weston “Wiggy” Saunders, who is an expert in post-COVID syndromes. He specifically addresses the large numbers of patients who have had the serious complications listed above ruled out — but still have constitutional symptoms that are debilitating. Dr. Saunders outlines the sophisticated use of the laboratory and both prescription and over-the-counter nutraceuticals and supplements to help patients through this difficult illness. An integrative medicine approach is a patient-centered approach aimed at ameliorating the post-COVID syndrome.
Our music segment from New Zealand’s Aly Cook — is “Little White Crosses,” so listen carefully to the lyrics which directly apply to vaccine disabled and deaths.
