Povidone Iodine Nasal Spray for COVID-19 Protection?

Image
The use of povidone iodine nasal spray and mouthwash during the current COVID-19 pandemic has been recommended to reduce cross infection and protect healthcare workers.( Indian J Otolaryngol Head Neck Surg. 2021) Is povidone iodine the next ivermectin or hydroxychloroquine? Is there any evidence that povidone iodine can treat COVID-19? To make 1% povidone iodine nasal spray from 10% povidone iodine solution, it must be diluted first.  10% Povidone Iodine is available OTC (Over the Counter) without a prescription at any drug store for a few dollars. Here is the link:   Povidone 10% Iodine on Amazon . This 10% Povidone Iodine must be diluted by one tenth, to 1% strength before use as a nasal spray or mouth wash, otherwise it is too strong and irritating. You should have someone double check your work if you're doing your own math or triple check your work because higher concentrations can cause damage to the nasal tissue. Dilute by adding 2 tablespoons (30 ml) of the 10% Povidone I

Unexpected Comeback of Hydroxychloroquine 2022

If you have followed the development of early treatment protocols for COVID-19, you will be aware that for well over a year, Ivermectin was the central agent in the FLCCC protocol, for prevention and early treatment. Ivermectin is also part of the hospital level protocols. Very early on, as discussed in this interview with Professor Varon , Hydroxychloroquine was present in the protocol, but it was dropped mid-2020.  This non-inclusion of Hydroxychloroquine appears to have been in part due to the bad publicity that hydroxychloroquine was suffering from, as it was targeted by the mainstream media, especially in relation to the presidential campaign in the US in 2020. Comeback of Hydroxychloroquine This January 19, 2022; it’s therefore a bit of a surprise to see Hydroxychloroquine to re-appear in the FLCCC prevention and early treatment protocol. The move follows the experience of several frontline doctors who found that Hydroxychloroquine is particularly useful to deal with Omicron, in

Oral Nasal Virucidal Therapy in Prevention and Treatment of COVID-19

The push for prophylaxis and treatment of SARS-CoV-2 oropharyngeal infection starts in the nose and mouth. A randomized trial by Choudhury et al. from Bangladesh has been overlooked by US public agencies but not the early treatment organizations around the world. McCullough et al. Reviews in Cardiovascular Medicine, 2020 In this prospective randomized controlled trial, n=606 high-risk subjects with incipient COVID-19 were randomized to 1% povidone-iodine (betadine) solution as a rinse was used for a target of every four hours versus lukewarm water for four weeks. By day 7, the rates of positive nasal PCR for SARS-CoV-2 were 2.64% versus 70.3%, p<0.0001. The hospitalization rates and oxygen support and death rates were 3.3% vs. 20.8% and 0.66% vs. 5.61% (84% and 88% reductions, respectively) for the povidone-iodine vs. lukewarm water groups, p<0.0001.   We know to apply these concepts to pre-exposure prophylaxis twice a day and postexposure four times a day. During active early t

Honduras’ Master Class: Treating COVID Early 101

Image
We now have peer-reviewed, scientific proof that bears irrefutable, evidentiary witness to what the physicians of the FLCCC and others have known — and shared widely — since the start of the pandemic: Early combination treatment for COVID-19 decreases fatality rates.  Who knew? We did. Others did. Honduras sure did. And YOU did too if you were listening. (Or if the presses had really been rolling on this.) It’s just basic medical common sense. Let’s call it, ‘ Treating COVID Early 101.’  Kind of like when you get a cold, you may take a decongestant or an aspirin to lessen the chance that it will escalate into something more serious. Or when you have an upset stomach, you may take an anti-diarrheal to get things under control before dehydration or other, more dire, conditions develop. Like that.  So get this: Soon after the start of the pandemic, Honduran physicians implemented what some consider to be a ‘novel approach’ to tackling COVID. It was based on the following hypothesis: By

New Study Confirms Ivermectin Outperforms Other Options

Mercola.com -  At nearly no other time in history has there been this level of fear generated across the world as experienced thus far in 2020 and 2021. The depth and breadth of the strategies used to stoke those fears has been overwhelming.   McCullough et al. Reviews in Cardiovascular Medicine, 2020 Emergency use authorizations for drugs that have not proven to be effective in trials, 1 , 2  public mask mandates for which there is no scientific evidence 3 , 4 , 5  and the suppression and censorship of health information has boosted public fear over a viral illness with a survival rate of over 99%. 6 Unfortunately, many of the early effective treatment strategies that can be used at home have also fallen victim to censorship. Ivermectin is one of those strategies. In a computational analysis of the Omicron variant against several therapeutic agents, data show that ivermectin had the best results. 7 Yet, as you look objectively at what's been happening across the world, the fear be
